triPup Records is pleased to announce that John Sinclair's latest CD, Steady Rollin' Man (get it?) is now available. The disc, with elegant Blue Note style graphics, 11 tracks and extensive liner notes from John himself, clocks in at more than an hour of music. It captures John in peak form, roaring like a lion - taking his spiritual, soulful mix of narrative poetry and activism to new heights.

Recorded on John's "End of the Millennium Tour," Steady Rollin' Man also features Ted and Eric from Devil Gods on guitar and drums, and bassist Mike Yocco. The CD's release was celebrated with a gig at House of Blues in Cambridge in October that also marked John's 59th birthday.

Steady Rollin' Man features live 'n' charging versions of Sinclair favorites like Monk In Orbit, Homage To John Coltrane and his Muddy Waters ode Louisiana Blues, as well as previously unrecorded gems like Hellhound On My Trail, John's chilling narrative of the murder of Robert Johnson, and Sunnyland Train, his tribute to Sunnyland Slim. Par for triPup releases, it's also got plenty of burning, creative guitar.

The CD is available by mail for $14 including postage and handling. Please send checks to Ted Drozdowski, P.O. Box 17208, Nashville, TN 37217. If you're more comfortable using a charge card, please go to www.CDBaby.com now.

Whether you know John from his performance poetry, history of political activism, DJ duties on WWOZ in his home town of New Orleans, Blues Access magazine or his days as manager of the MC5, you'll dig Steady Rollin' Man. Potent, inventive, extraordinary!

Here are some MP3s from Steady Rollin' Man:

  • Monk In Orbit - an acid trip through inner-stellar space with the great Thelonious
  • My Buddy - powerhouse Detroit blues tribute to a fallen comrade
  • Just Don't Say No - to Hell with Nancy Reagan
